so my gf wanted us to try a batch of boddington's pub ale clone from AHS. we don't have a keg though... this will just be primed like normal and bottled... is that going to be an issue? and should we still bottle condition this... if so, is it okay at 74+ F? i'm beginning to wonder if i shouldn't have just stuck with ordering a belgian strong ale.

It'll be fine. It's not gonna be exactly like boddingtons on cask or in nitro cans, but it'll be good. Just prime and carb in bottles as you normally would. Maybe shoot for lower volumes of co2. Try 2.5 oz of corn sugar instead of the regular 5 to make a less bubbly, more authentic English bitter.

Yes you should bottle condition it, for at least 3 weeks to allow adequate carbonation to soak into the beer.

There is going to be a big difference between your clone and the one your gf is used to. The main thing being that boddington’s has nitrogen in the beer instead of co2. You will be using the co2 the yeast farts out to carbonate it. You will find the nitrogen beer to be creamier due to the size of the nitrogen bubbles compared to the co2 bubbles. I have never tried a clone of boddington’s so I cannot say how it will come out. Give it a try and keep us updated.
