I have always used regular old white Teflon/PTFE tape on my brew kettle fittings, but I ran out and I had a new role of blue monster PTFE thread, tape. Any reason not to use it that you know of? I really think this is the same thing as the white tape just thicker. I looked at their site and I do not see an NSF rating but I’m not sure that means anything.

That product appears to be a thicker-than-typical PTFE tape - and that might be very welcome in some situations (eg: well worn threads). I use their PTFE pipe sealant with great success on both liquid and gas connections (actually have two viable cans in my shop - not sure how that happened :)) and wouldn't be concerned about the safety of their tape products...

Cheers!
