The hole in all of the stoppers I've seen are 3/8". Unless you drill out the hole to be just slightly less than the OD of the tubing it won't work. I would recommend using at least a 1/2" blow off tube. I use a carboy hood and 1/2" tubing fits the larger nipple just right. http://www.morebeer.com/products/ru...-wwhite-caps-3-5-6-65-gallon-smooth-neck.html They come in sizes to fit most carboys and are available from most home brew suppliers. If you go with the carboy hood, trim about 1/4" off of the large nipple, as it narrows at the tip.
