Blow Off Insurance

I brewed a Belgian Half-Wit on Monday. It's half-wit because I hate coriander, so I'm trying it with just orange peel. Used a Wyeast Belgian Wit smack pack (my first). I checked it this morning, and I'm glad I used a blow off tube! This is the first beer I've had with so much krausen.

I use a one gallon glass apple juice jug. Works really well.

3944 is crazy. They really should put a disclaimer on the smack pack that says "BLOW OFF TUBE REQUIRED!"

It occurred to me yesterday to replace the tube with a 3 piece for some reason. Glad I didn't.
