brewed an oatmeal stout on saturday, pitched yeast at 66 degrees, set up airlock - everything good. this morning at 5 am (monday) the airlock was clogged with over-active yeast. cleaned up, and inserted clean, sanitized airlock - same thing. i couldn't stay home to babysit my beer, but i'm wondering how folks set up blow-off on an ale pail. i have a cap and tubing for my better bottle 6-gallon carboy and a growler for the catch, but i was reluctant to attach the tubing to the airlock. any suggestions?

I use 3/8 I.D. tubing, just take the airlock cap and inner piece out and press the hose over the inner air lock tube, then reinsert your airlock into the rubber grommet in your bucket lid. Always put the blow off hose in a container of water with sanitizer or bleach to prevent bacteria growth in the water.
