Okay, for the longest time I've just thoroughly rinsed out the syphon tube after use. And, of course, I sanitize it before use.

Last week I was bleaching my primary bucket to get rid of that stain/smell that seems to set in after a while. I decided to toss the syphon tube in there as well, since the inside of it was getting pretty stained, too.

Well now the syphon tube has kind of a weird film on it that doesn't seem to want to go away no matter how much I rinse it. So, I don't know if I should still use it or just replace it.

Any help?

I would not worry about the film. But definately make sure there is no crud in the tube. If you have a bottle washer, you can do this to removed caked on gunk in tubes.

1) Wad up a small bit of paper towel and stuff it into the tube snugly. Use water pressure to push it through the full lentgh of the tube a couple of times. As long as you do this before the stuff dries, it will clean your tubes well.
