I am looking to brew a Chocolate Orange Imperial Stout into a competition. Should I enter it as a 30A, SHV Beer, or a 20C, Imperial Stout? Please and thank you!

Not an imperial stout, as if you have chocolate and/or orange flavors it will not be a good fit.

If the orange is very strong, it could be a fruit beer. 29A
If the chocolate is strong, could be 30A.

You didn’t ask this, but if you’re looking at getting some or all of the orange from your hops, both Lotus and Bergamot are great options.

Good to know on the hops. Thanks

Not sure if Fruit Beer is a good fit, only using orange peel as a spice.
