I full volume mash and use BIAB calculators to get my strike water volumes and temperatures. However, I use a 70qt rectangular Coleman Xtreme.

How does the rectangular shape of my MT affect the calculations? What value should I put when they ask for Kettle/mashtun width/diameter?

This is on my agenda, probably be updated in two weeks ish. Most calculators will not account for a rectangular prism in the volume calculator, but I can do the math real quick if you can provide the width, length, and height of the interior.

Just need to match the height for one gallon and use the corresponding diameter.

Thanks!

I'm at work right now, but I'll post them when I get home if I can't find them online.

Need to know which is the height.

If I remember right a gallon is 231 cubic inches. So one gallon of water will have a height of 231/(width*length). To find the corresponding diameter solve for r in the following formula.

V=H*pi*(D/4)^2

D= 4* Sqrt( 231/(H*pi) )
