I am trying to figure out which micron mesh to use for an eBIAB recirculating mash system.

On my 3 vessel system I use a jay bird false bottom that is 3/32 hole size which is ~2,250 micron and works great for that system. I read some people use 400 micron for their BIAB baskets. I'm afraid the flow might be too constricted at 400?

I want a good flow rate, but don't want a lot of grain particles carried over to the boil. If you are recirculating does your grain bed act like a filter as in 3 vessel? Or not, since the wort drains from all sides the grain bed.

I am leaning towards 800 micron which is about 1/32". But not sure if this will lead to cloudy wort in the boil...?

I will be using a standard crush.

With a standard crush why not used a standard bag? People who recirculate their traditional vessel mash tun probably get really clear wort because the grain bed filters itself.

You can go really really small. The gap size in voile is ~200 micron, the threads are about 125 micron in diameter. I use a voile bag and it's never gotten clogged- I'd say go as small as you possibly can.
