So I'm looking at getting some 10 gal Igloo coolers, 2 for portable kegerators, and the other for going AG.

Anyways, I noticed that Wal-Mart has them pretty damn cheap @ $47.86. Are these the same, insulation-wise, as the expensive Industrial models? They seem a good bit more expensive, so I'm curious.

Without knowing which particular model you're referring to, I used a 5 gallon wal-mart beverage cooler to start doing smaller AG batches and it worked amazingly well. I think I lost maybe 1 degree through the whole 60min mash, if that. I think mine was a Coleman though...

I wasn't aware there was an industry standard for 10 gallon circular drink coolers. I would imagine just about everything is equal between Rubbermaid, Igloo, Gatorade, etc. coolers.

I have the lowes variety and it cost me $47... It's awesome. I have the 5 gall for a HLT as well, but so far fly sparging seems to be just a PITA vs batch.
