So I got a bunch of bottles from a friend and found to my dismay that they have mold growing in the bottom. I started scrubbing them with a regular bottle brush and found the mold is pretty stubborn and scrubbing is very time consuming. Anyone know an easier way to get this done, I've got about 400 bottles to clean. Thanks.

Soak in oxy clean solution for a couple days. Rinse, should be good to go. Remember to sanitize before using.

I have a huge two bay sink I put about 100 bottles in one side and fill with hot water and a scoop of pbw or oxy clean. I soak over night when the bottles are really dirty. Most of the funk will float out of the bottles over night. The next day I run them over the bottle washer I then give them a quick visual inspection by looking through them in a light. If they fail the light test I don't waste any more time on that bottle. I then run the bottle washer to be sure the cleaner is out and proceed with my sterilizing procedure.

I got a bunch of '70s-era longnecks on Craigslist (the nice, thick-walled ones). It looked like they had mold in there since the '70s. I tried brushing, oxy, still didn't get it all. So I thought: what do you use to remove mold from other surfaces? Yup, good old tub & tile cleaner. Sprayed a couple shots into each bottle and let it sit for an hour. Blasted it out with water from my Jet bottle washer. Worked great. Just be sure to rinse well.

I have just had this problem.
I used Dawn Overnight formula along with a strong does of Sani-brite and hot water. I filled a new garbage can with water and the 2 cleaning solutions then flooded the bottles until they sink to the bottle and left them for a day. any mold that didn't come free was washed out quickly with my double bottle blaster.

upside was it stripped all of the labels off as well.
