Today I went to an acquaintance's house to show him how to brew beer in his kitchen, and he only has an iPad to work with. Had him create an account on brewersfriend.com, and had him input my printed-out recipe... And spoiler-alert: it was beyond frustrating -- dropdowns worked about half the time, we never were able to get the water chemistry panel to appear, and I was so damned mad that I had left my laptop at home.

So, is there any brewing software that works great (and has all the handy things brewersfriend.com can do [on a real computer]) when one only has an iPad?

Brewers Friend has an iPad native app that I use on occasion. Brewfather also has an iPad native app (that I haven't tried). Both were initially released around 2021 and have been updated within the last year. There is also a BeerSmith iPad native app, but it hasn't been updated since late 2020).

I don’t run into problems using Brewers Friend on iPad. Perhaps there’s an update needed?
It is frustrating when technology doesn’t preform as expected.

We were trying to use it with the iPad's safari web-browser, and I couldn't make it work like I expected it to. Didn't think about trying to update his iPad, I figured that sort thing just auto-updates, but I don't know much at all about ipads (or any apple stuff, really). I passed along the tip about using the actual app instead of the web browser (thanks, @BrewnWKopperKat).
