Good morning all,

I have been shuffling through many of the online websites that are dedicated to home brewing supplies. Their prices for the most part are relatively reasonable from one site to the other. The main problem is for me I live on the east coast. Many of the sites are out west. The length of time that products take to get to me isn't so much an issue but paying $10-$15 for ground shipping from most sites is pretty unreasonable in my eyes. Do you guys have certain websites that you have found reasonable shipping rates? Thanks

Frank

Morebeer.com has free shipping if you spend like $50, and they have a warehouse in PA so depending where you are it should only be 1-2 days shipping, and with the free shipping it may be an extra day or two "processing". They show a shipping map on their site which would give you some idea.

I will put a plug in for my LHBS . . . . I am only 10 miles away, so no shipping needed. But, I do believe his shipping is pretty reasonable, his service is great, and it is a couple thousand miles closer to you potentially - depending on where else you were ordering from - so faster turn around. Worth checking out at any rate to see how it compares for you:

Brewmasters Warehouse has $6.99 flat rate shipping. There have been some issues with orders lately due to family issues, but I think they are starting to turn it around.

I'm psyched Morebeer just opened their PA distribution center, but some of their items don't qualify for free shipping (mostly the bulky and heavier items ).

Since you're so close to PA, Keystone Homebrew Supply probably has decent shipping rates, and 1 day delivery for most items.

mOREBEER super saver shipping, on orders over $60 its gets free shipping. Only downside is that those orders take back seat to any other orders that they have with paid shipping.

I just dont order yeast this way and i usually get a full order within 10 days or so, more of a thinking ahead order for the next couple batches.

EDIT: Glad to see hey opened a PA warehouse guess that means less ship time to me in NY!?

They offer free shipping for over 1000 recipe kits that they sell. The majority of them are clone kits, I've brewed several and the Sam Adams Alpine Spring clone is awesome! They have cheap shipping for everything else on their site.

Shipping $$$ puts me off, too. I found Labelpeelers, in Ohio(?), really good prices, but their rates were prohibitive. However, several months later they began a new (slower?) rate structure. Check 'em out. Good luck.

Be wary of cheap shipping rates. It usually (always?) means their base prices are higher, and/or some items are excluded.

It's a pain, but the best way is to enter all your items into multiple shops and see what the best total price is.
