I had written off using a plate chiller, but after reading this I'm going to try one.

He espouses the same philosophy I've always used with my plate chiller - heat kills all.

I hot water flush my plate chiller at the end of each brew day and do a PBW cycle every few brew days. My main point of sterilization is recirculating the boiling wort through the chiller as I approach the end of my boil session.
