Not sure if this the right place for this if not sorry in advance. I picked up a sixer of fullers esb to tryout, poured it in a glass absolutely no head very little carbonation and just tasted bad. Anyway I'm just wondering if British best by dates read like ours (USA) if so this sixer was 6 years past its date. Anyone know if I'm reading this right, if I am I'm getting my cash back.

Cheers

Wow. Take it back! I recently had a similar experience at a local Giant Food. I posted in HBT. I will see if I can locate.
Yea it's going back the six pack was 12 bucks before tax. I was so disappointed iv never had a esb and I had heard good things about fullers, maybe next time, but I'm never buying beer there again.

When I complained at the local Giant Food, I was met with "What do you want us to do about it?". When I posted my experience here, at HBT, I was met with "Beer Nazi".

My concern was the first time purchaser getting old, out-of-date beer and vowing to never drink again (in other words retreating to Bud, Coors, Miller, etc).

Probably stored warm for all those years too. Wow, 6 years, must have been from the last of their inventory (or their distributor's inventory) from Covid shipping slowdowns. Shows what happens when companies do not rotate their inventory.

Agreed I live in a small town where 99% of the population drinks bud and Bush light, thought I'd hit the jackpot when I saw it on the shelf. Lesson learned.
