I have the exact same capper. I'm in Toronto - are you as well? And by chance did you buy it from "Toronto Brewing Supplies" up near Danforth station?

Not 100% sure that it'll work fine with screw cap type bottles, but I'd say yes. One way to test would be to cap an empty bottle and submerge it under water, if you see bubbles then there's a problem.

...and I don't know what it's called or who makes it. Call whoever sold it to you and they know (assuming you didn't buy it second hand).

I believe it is called 'black max'. It is a traditional bench capper, and I have used a similar one for years. I would be cautious when trying to cap screw tops with a bench capper. The necks of screw top bottles are thinner and break easily. It is also difficult to get a seal in my experience.

Im in Nova Scotia and have been capping Canadian twist off bottles for 7 years with a bench capper. Haven't had an issue yet except maybe 3 or 4 bad seals (flat beer) so you should be fine.

You need to mount it to a slab or wood, see the mounting holes on the base. If you don't, over time it will get all loosey-goosey and not cap straight. I used an old 3/4 inch cutting board to stabilze mine while still allowing it to be portable instead of permanently mounted. It feels more solid with a base.

Canadian twist off bottles appear to have a thicker neck, so I can see these working for you. I did not have a positive experience with BMC and their thinner necks, so I avoid messing with them.
