Is the best beer I've ever had in my life by a large margin.

Tasted it blind next to Great Divide Yeti, Victory Storm King Stout, and North Coast Old Rasputin.

Bell's Expedition Stout was an explosion of flavor and was almost overwhelming.

As a panel of 8 guys, we nearly unanimously ranked the stouts in this order:

1. Bell's Expedition Stout
2. Great Divide Yeti
3. North Coast Old Rasputin
4. Victory Storm King Stout

Try Oak Aged Yeti, Chocolate Oaked Yeti, and Espresso Oaked Yeti....

How about Avery's The Czar?

(just messing with you since you haven't posted lately in the INHBC forums)

;P

Haven't had Founders Stout or any of the special Yeti's/Expeditions - definitely need to try. I gotta get my hands on Stone's Imperial Stout too.

I did have Bell's Double Cream Imp. Stout next to Expedition at Taco Mac and it wasn't even in the same league.

I'll be back on INHBC soon, Duckfoot. I've taken a hiatus from homebrewing this winter and am ready to get back in the full swing!

It's a great beer, but man, I could probably only drink one of those puppies a month. Gotta be the right setting/mood for me to take something like that down... Like you stated, it's almost overwhelming...

I like it too, but I'd be curious to see how you think it compares to Founder's Stout. It seems to be very well received too.

Hands down, Founders make a superior stout by a long shot IMO and I LOVE both Bells and Founders.

Get your hands on some KBS or regular Breakfast Stout. They also make a Barrel aged rye porter that is outta this world. I could go on for days about Founders Black beers which is the exact reason they have a "Black Party" every year. Similar to Dark Lord day but in showcases a wide variety of their blacks with a few surprise introductions. I will be going this year.

Any idea of when they usually have this?

KBS was jut released but its tough getting your hands on it. I live 15 miles from founders and only managed three 4 packs. The Barrel Rye porter doesn't get bottled unfortunately, but yeah, check their site for release dates.

DEIT: Did you mean the black party? http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=105279832838182

Expedition is a great beer.

If you like it, try Founders Imperial Stout, Great Lakes Blackout Stout, Alesmith Speedway Stout, and GI NightStalker. All as good or better than Expedition IMO.

I don't know if I can get any of those here in Atlanta :(

I'll keep an eye out!
