I need suggestions on purchasing a brewing kit. I am new to this hobby, any suggestions are appreciated. I do not neccessarily want the cheapest way to start, but eventually would like to take this hobby to the next level. Thanks.

I found my starter kit locally for about $75. A great way to get started is with a 5-7 gallon brew pot, a couple of 6.5 gallon buckets, a bucket lid drilled for an airlock, an airlock, a racking cane, a bottling wand, some 3/8" tubing, a hydrometer, and a bottle capper.

You and a few friends can easily drink enough beer to supply your first batch of bottles. A lot of folks like those auto-siphons, but I never used one. I upgraded quickly to a Better Bottle - a plastic carboy with a spigot. Since then, I have upgraded to kegging 15 gallon all grain batches with a ton of homemade gadgets.

Welcome, and happy brewing! :mug:
