I am an amature brewer. My second batch, a red ale, tastes ok but has too much of a yeast flavor. I followed the recipe by the book and all my equipment and bottles were clean and sterilized. What am I doing wrong?!

Sometimes it's not best to follow the recipe of a kit brew "by the book". Most prescribe bottling too quickly, before the beer clears. This may be what happened. Next time, regardless of what the recipe says, you may want to leave your beer in primary until it becomes clear, then package.

I agree with passedpawn. I have had a few brews like that. Refrigerating for a few days to a week helps. Also letting them sit a few more weeks at room temp also helped a few of mine.
