Beer sitting in the line for several days.

What happens when you don't use your tap for a few days? Does the beer go stale just laying in the line? If it does, will it affect the rest of the beer on the keg?

i find it dosent really effect it to much provided there are no gaps of air in the line but as a rule its probably best to clean the lines once a week with pbw and before storage

I've had one of my beers sitting int he line for like 2 weeks before I ended up pouring it again. It tasted just fine. Given there are no gaps or anything it would retain its c02 levels.

I only clean my lines after blowing a keg, which may be months in some cases. I even moved across the country with beer still in my keg lines for 2 weeks at 90+F in the back of a moving truck. My kegerator was full of mold and I had to bleach bomb everything, but the inside of the lines was perfect because I had left it sealed and pressurized.

If you're worried about it, just dump the first half pint or so. Worst case scenario it is flat and stale.

Whoa! Don't be tossing any half pints of beer around!
10 feet of 3/16" ID beer line only holds 1.8 ounces of beer.
Add in an ounce for the shank and faucet and you're barely up to a half cup of potential tossage before you're drawing from the keg...

Don't forget about the slug of yeast that will probably come out of a keg that hasn't been used in awhile

Didn't know that could be a thing.
I cold-crash before kegging. My beers are slug-free

The line stays pressurized anyway so there's really not much of a difference between it sitting there and inside the keg.
