I've heard Ellis Island has some decent deals on cheap food, cheap big breakfasts, etc

Went to Vegas in March. Ellis Island has $1.50 pints. They are a brew pub. Their beers, especially their amber is excellent. Their food is OK. They have a ribeye, potato, salad, bread, and your choice of beer, including rootbeer for like $6.99. It's called a waitress special, it's not on the menu so ask your server. Be sure to go to their restaraunt, not the little bbq/pizza place in the corner. Also, at Circus-Circus after midnight to like 06:00 they have ribeye and eggs w/toast for 4.99, but order water because if you add a soft drink, it adds like $3.00. Luck - Dwain

I looked at all of the pictures and peruse some of the comments, but overall I have to say that if I am ever divorced that will be EXACTLY what my basement will look like!!:mug:

Of course, for some odd reason there will also be a stripper pole in my living rrom and bedroom...OK, THEN i will wake up from this dream....:tank:

Did you try the Yardhouse when you were in Vegas?

Nope. It was on our list, but we didn't make it.

So then you'd probably hate me if I told you that my wife wants a stripper pole in our basement when I finish the other half? :D

Dude I walked from the MGM where I was staying. It was 120 degrees out. When I got there I was so thirsty that I don't even think that I tasted the first 2 beers.

Ya I want to say it was about 2.5-3 miles. Every time we went into a gas station to ask how much further it was they were like it is just 2 blocks up.

I just recently heard of Gordon Biersch, there's only one in Florida and it's in Miami. Is it good?

I've been to both (in other locations). In fact, there's a Yardhouse close enough to my home in Denver that we go a few times a year. IMO, the food at Yardhouse is much better than GB.

As for the beer, I have to agree that GB beer just isn't as good as lots of other brewpub chains (I'm comparing to Rock Bottom, Breckenridge Brewery, ant the like), and just can't at all compete with the really great brewpubs (Wynkoop in Denver, Widmer in Portland, Pike Brewing).

Given the choice, I'd go to Yardhouse over Gordon Biersch any day of the week.

Thanks for the tip.

Funny you should mention Breckenridge Brewery. Over this past Christmas holiday I went skiing @ Breck and had dinner and some brews @ BB. I hadn't brewed in 9 years and deciced right then and there that I was gonna get back into brewing. I brewed a batch on Jan 7th and have brewed a batch every week since (sometimes 2). So...yay BB!
