So on Friday I am going to win a weight loss competition (hopefully). I will get ~$250 to spend on new brewing toys.

I am going to buy a couple new speidel fermenters, a beer gun with acc kit and a new thermometer set for my CFC..

I thought Id post here to see if anyone had any of this stuff they want to sell / ship to 45822 (west central ohio). If i can get a beer gun in good shape cheaper than new Ill buy it.. otherwise ill just get the new one on Friday.

Be sure to buy the upgraded drain spout with metal valve for the speidels. They are a bit pricey at $17 a piece but well worth it. I've got (2) 60L and they are perfect for 10 gal batches. Probably could do 15 gal with blowoff tube. Enjoy. They are really easy to clean too....

You really don't need the accessory kit from Blichmann. Just an additional ball lock and you can get the fitting for much less than Blichmann charges.

well FML.. i lost 30 lbs.. good for 11% and I lost the competition.

The guy who won was already thinned out and only at 3%.. he won with 13% because he just barely ate and didn't drink anything for the last few days. Totally dehydrating himself.

I am disappointed that i lost.. but moreso because I was totally upfront and honest about where I was % wise and what I was hoping to do if i won. The dude was always saying stuff like he wasn't in it to win this year or he is too far behind, or i definitely got it this year.... it was just plain dishonesty and that's what pi$$es me off.

so long story short ill probably get 2nd place for $40 and wont be able to buy a damn thing I had on my list

/rant off

30 lbs is no joke. $40 is half way to a beer gun and you can piece the accessories together over time. I bought my brass fitting from Home Depot for a few bucks. A ball lock fitting can be swapped from keg to gun and back. The air hose can come from Home Depot or from a keg manifold. It's the gun that's expensive and it's totally worth it. Buy it as a reward for losing 30 pounds then bottle all your beer and hide it. Lol.
