This is the correct answer. Also skip Mikkeller Oakland all together.
Oh, I didn't go Mikkeller Oak, I just know it was near by and needed a point of ref.

I wussed out and hit up Barney's burgers. And holy ****, if you like Bacon, get the Cobb salad. It's basically 40%.Bacon strips

I saw Fortem at a Whole Foods yesterday - I imagine it's everywhere by now
Wait, SF Whole Foods? Because I went to the Oakland one on Sunday and they didn't have any, and I can't believe they'd sell out in a day. Then again, I just saw High Westified at my local spot the other day, so is this yet another instance of the east bay distributors being fuckheads?

I got some at Oakland WF on Sunday. They had a bunch of it in the fridge.

I thought Fortem was pretty good. Was down in San Jose over the weekend and saw it at Good Karma and ISO: Beers. I probably say it every time I ever discuss the place, but I feel obligated to say ISO: Beers is the worst name for a beer place.

Each to their own. This 4 pack is not my cup of tea.

Anyone see this ****? http://sf.eater.com/2017/3/23/15044130/golden-road-brewery-temescal-oakland

They better not take Temescal's business. Not that I think they are that good, just **** Golden Road.
I hope it inspires Temescal to make more than their boring line up.

Adding this to the growing list of beers places I'll prob check out once or never.

"The aim, both Popov and Hoff said, is to keep the beer program accessible."
"Many beers, much of them lower in ABV, or alcohol, are available by the pitcher."

yeah......

Maybe in the summer when it's not a college kid, and an act is playing that I GAF to see?

Just looked at Temescal's list. Two pilsners? Really?

Seems like an interesting idea for that Berkeley place. I wonder what kind of bands will play, but I generally like the idea of more live music venues.

From what I hear their pilsners are one of their best products. I would be thrilled if someone was pouring 2 pilsners in Seattle.

Would you prefer more popsicle beer?
I guess if you are going to make more than one of one style, I'd rather it be popsicle beers. "Man this pilsner is crisp and fresh. This other pilsner is...also crisp and fresh" vs. "oh this overly sweet stout has vanilla" vs. "oh this overly sweet stout has coffee." I'll take the latter because I'm not one for subtle differences.

So you'd order a flawed stout if it had adjuncts over a well made pilsner?

I'm not judging (well sort of) but if that isn't the definition of new money, then I don't know what is.

The point I was trying to make is that if you are going to make more than one of a single style, might as well go with something with dramatic variance. I'm fine with a well made pilsner, but I don't need two of them because they are probably going to taste too similar for it to be worth my time.

I'll just throw out that Pilsner is my least favorite style, behind adjunct lager. Only thing it's in front of is anything with chilies.

Fair enough. I can only think of 3 or 4 breweries with a good pilsner in Seattle. But almost everyone is brewing mediocre stouts, plus those are also all over the shelves here.

Everyone is different, but I would be more likely to go to a brewery for a good pilsner than a mediocre stout.

BTW, I love your username.
Engineering?

I'm actually not a huge stout/adjunct stout guy myself so I could go either way with that choice. I guess I'm not one for subtle differences (hence my preference for beer over wine).

Civil, yep.

They just canned a new pils. U want?
Also: I fux w dat popsicle beer dog
Me and beer boxes are taking a slight break at the moment, but perhaps sometime soonish. And to be clear, I would definitely try dat push pop but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it.

Civil, yep.
I figured. Me and my fellow GISers are few and far between :D
