Hey all, have a family member headed y'all's way this week and was going to ask them to pick me up a few beers to bring home. Any suggestions? Appreciate it!

For the most part, our best beer isn't bottled. I'd check seekabrew to start.

Natalie posted on FB saying the new brewpub would replace their production brewery. So of course they won't end up making more beer.
Well ****, maybe it won't be quite as much of a hassle to go to either location in the future. At least that is something.

Why, oh why, did I read the sycophantic comments on that Facebook thread? "Move to Massachusetts and make me a Pliney!"

"Dear brewery ____ thanks so mcuh for teh privleg of buying your beer and individually contributing thousands of dollars to your bottom line. Such humble, much fellatio. Wow."

I've never thought of dicksucking as a bad thing until I encountered the last few years of beer geeks. Take this kuent for example. On the Russian River page, he ripped on people who called out Perry's for reselling Beatification (and other beers) illegally in 2013:

And:

But his cover photo is him posing with the Russian River owners and Jean of Cantillon (who also hates resellers):

The worst ******* people in this hobby sometimes. It's amazing.

Also:

They'll probably shut down the fourth street location once they get a smaller second location up and running.

Probably my favorite post of 2016. Flawless victory.

For one of the first IPA's they have made this aint half bad.

I joined their club this year based on their good stuff being pretty good and their bad stuff being drinkable.

Had 8 tasters today, same applies. IPA's good for first batches. Name of brewery is still stupid

Fun fact: that guy was the beer buyer for Perry's for a while after that Beat selling fiasco. He may still be for all I know. So it makes perfect sense why he was defending them

Curious if anyone has tried Happy Hops from RR lately. Picked up a growler yesterday morning for the Super Bowl. Tasted completely different. More malt forward and lacking Mosaic. Completely different than the most recent batches.

That's really disappointing. I loved the hop-forward Mosaic version.

This is prolly a dumb question, but is there a master list anywhere of infected BCBBW batches? There's a whole shelf full of 'em at the City Beer Store and I'd love to try one that tastes right, but the one I got from them unfortunately was infected.

I got a beer 6 months ago from CBS, was way off, I emailed them the next day, they replied they'd look into it. Beer was still on the shelf when I went back 3 weeks later.

Meh, I can't hate them too much because of all the good stuff I consistently find in there. I doubt the BCBBW was off because of storage conditions. Just need to do some neckbeard rummaging for a good batch.

Haven't had HH for a while. But most of my fave beers from RR are seriously disappointing lately. No idea what is up.

FFAC was garbage this year. Tasted really strongly of raspberry syrup/extract. Like cough syrup mixed with sour beer.

Affirmation of my decision to not give them any more business.

Bay Areans - Is all this Casey Fruitstand treehouse mumbo jumbo really as good as people make it out to be? I've only been drinking locals (SARA, Cellarmaker, RR) for the past 2 or so years and haven't had any of the latest trend breweries across the country. How do they compare?

IMHO Fruitstand is hit or miss, but TH ops are pretty damn good when fresh (stouts are very good as well: Good Morning was exceptional).

A lot more funk for sure in the Casey Fruitstands imo. I still prefer SARA myself for the sour bite, but fruitstands are another unique take on the style.

Casey had a grape The Cut at the Ratebeer fest that was one of the best beers there. In the past I've found Fruitstands to be clearly worse than SARA's fruited beers, but it seems like Casey beers can be quite good.

Treehouse's hoppy stuff is better than anything produced locally for what they're doing.

I must have been the only person there that didn't love that beer. I've had some very good Casey beers in the past, but I've also had some that were basically undrinkable. I think Sante is more consistent with the quality of their beers - generally I know based on the style whether I'm going to like it or not.

That's fair. I wouldn't say I've had anything from Casey that was undrinkable, but I've also had relatively few of their beers.
