Nah, i am being miserable at Mill Valley Beerworks, with **** beer and worse food.

Well, I'm ditching the East bay after finishing up here at Fieldwork and heading to Novato for more of that Baeltane barleywine, if you need more Marin Action Adventure.

Wife fell into the ocean out at Rodeo Beach. Day ended early.

'Tion Day continued well into today. In fact, by 3pm (which is when I stepped in), only one of the kegs from yesterday had kicked! (An older Consecration.) Was pretty shocked by the low prices: at $6/6oz, most of the beers were somehow apparently even cheaper than the bottle. (How much was Beat going for this last release, $20/12oz? How can they serve several vintages at, like, half the price?! That's not how bars are supposed to work.) Tl;dr I think I need to visit Toronado more often. (Also, seriously: they need to advertise better. I understand if they want to keep the crowds small and local, but apparently the owner shut down the barleywine festival because not enough people were showing up? Dude, if you just put one word out on social media the place would be packed. I could barely squeeze in at the Side Project/SARA event at The Trappist, and those prices were 2x as high.)

Also, City Beer Store had BCBS, BCBBW, Jester King, and Council Brewing stuff just sitting on shelves.

Yeah, it turned out pretty good despite being so badly organized. You could tell that it was teetering on the razor's edge between "clusterfuck shitshow" and "good jorb!" and it stayed on the right side. I really hope they send out some kind of survey, because there were a lot of easily fixable things that would keep it well away from shitshow territory.

yeah it def could have gotten bad in a hurry. I have to admit the lines were not nearly as bad as I thought they would be when the general public got in. The fact that there was no real lines at Sante, DeGarde, Even Side Project was crazy to me. Also great job on the list. SP did have a couple of speical pour bottles as well.

That Grape/Merlot Cut might have been the best beer there, and Casey basically never had a line. It was weird.

I've never drank so much beer in a weekend. Between the Awards on Saturday night and the festival on Sunday, mixing in breweries and bars between them, geezus.

The fried pickles were good, I had a BBQ sammich that was tasty. Toward the end they were just giving away pizza too, but I didn't have any.

Yeah, it turned out pretty good despite being so badly organized. You could tell that it was teetering on the razor's edge between "clusterfuck shitshow" and "good jorb!" and it stayed on the right side. I really hope they send out some kind of survey, because there were a lot of easily fixable things that would keep it well away from shitshow territory.

Yeah the only huge line I stood in was for BVDL. I came in with the general public and was still able to drink all of the important ticks.

Also, those glasses were dropping like flies toward the end. Felt bad for whoever had to sweep em up.

No, I think everything lasted until after the general admission people got in. Morning Delight was probably the first to go but it took a while.

It was my first time at a beer fest and I thought it was cool. I volunteered so I saw disorginization when I first got there in the morning but it seemed during the event was fine? I was pouring Mikkeller for the last 3 hours so if you stopped by "hi!".

Is it usual to have such a mix of beer nerds?

I loved watching the group with their notebooks scribbling the whole time and then there were the many people who asked me "so who's Mikkeller, where you from?"

Also of the 4 kegs, I only went through 1 and 1/8.. the crazy amount of good beer at the festival was overwhelming.

Ah, yeah. One of the places where I think this fest really ****** up was the glass. Some of these people were pouring 8-10 ounces samples because that glass was so big. I think some of these beers would've lasted a lot longer had pour sizes been smaller. It also meant I tried way fewer things than I do at, say, Firestone, because you just can't drink that much if you get four 8-ounce pours of 13% stouts. I probably should've dumped some of those...
