072715 is a typo, probably meant 072712, then there is no reason for the 082016 prediction which is another typo and probably meant 082015

2011 batch bottled 8/8/2011, so the real answer to the question, is that it will be bottled sometime between May and August, with a release sometime between July and Oct

And Propitiation, and... bottles of STS Pils?? That is an amazing pilsner, damn. I want some now.

Flying out today, decided not to make any set plans and just go with the flow for less stress so if anyone wants to meet up, shoot me a message and I'll send you my cell number. Think Toronado, Cellarmaker and Rare Barrel (probably not all three, but maybe ;) ) are going to be on the agenda tomorrow. I'm still hoping to make a trip to SARA work at some point. I'll post up my location in here if you want to swing by and get JulianWinked. Hope to see some of you guys out there!

So am I reading things correctly that Cellarmaker will fill Hill Farmstead flip-top 750ml growlers if they are taped over to cover the logos?

Yes. I've never had a problem filling them. Wish I could meet up with you, sadly I'm out of town for my brothers graduation this weekend

They got painters tape there for you. Everyone working there is very friendly and accommodating. While Cellarmaker is small and can be loud/busy, it moves quick.

Cool. I'll probably wait until Sunday night to get fills since I'm flying out on the red eye.

I said it in the rare barrel thread but maybe you skimmed over it. They are open Friday to Sunday with odd hours each day. Also, check Cellarmaker's hours as I believe they have odd hours on Sunday.

Yep already did some hours-scouting to figure out the best plan. Likely plan to start tomorrow is to head to Toro after lunch and then over the Cellarmaker from there when they open at 3, or just late lunch and then Cellarmaker.

BTW, what are peoples' favorite burrito places? I kind of want to try some of the really well-known/highly-regarded ones (El Farolito, La Taquiera, Taquiera Cancun, etc.) but I'm happy to take under-the-radar recommendations.

skip the burrito at La Taq and go straight for their tacos. ask for them "dorado"--one fried crispy, one soft.

For lunch, go to Rosamunde next door to Toronado for sausage. You can bring it into the bar.

Lunch choices around Cellarmaker are okay, but there is a great greasy chinese fusion spot called So within two blocks we dig.

Papalote is a perennial favorite, everything is cooked to order, quality is great, and their salsa is famously good. I get the MexiPino burrito, Chicken Adobo and Garlic Rice, but their Carne Asada, Pesce, and Shrimp burritos. Or get the Triple Threat.

Farolito (one on 24th and Mission) is a gut bomb and good for the 1 am burrito. Price is right and it is huge. I prefer their mole and chicken.

La Taqueria has gotten a ton of hype and is not bad, but go for Tacos Dorado. You can do the same for the burrito.

Cancun is up there too. Good veggie burrito, cash only.

Cannot go wrong with any of the above chouices, but having lived in that area for years, I always go to Papalote.

Food options in the immediate Rare Barrel area if you make it:
Viks-indian street/snack food, "chaat"--just go here: the dosa, batata puri, bhatura cholle...everything is killer
Everette & Jones-BBQ
Kabana-pakistani
...might as well check out Berkeley Bowl West's bottle selection too.

My top 3 burritos are Farolito, Papalote, Cancun.

Anyone who hits up SARA, check out Taqueria Michoacan in Santa Cruz. And the tacos at Taqueria Santa Cruz. Best al pastor I have ever had.
I've yet to go anywhere in Santa Cruz/Capitola/Aptos but Burger. or Aptos St BBQ after SARA. Must change this soon, I've always waited to hit SJ for tacos if i'm craving Mexican food over bbq

which moreno's has breakfast burritos?

anyways; i support all burrito recs itt. but if you're on east cliff, skip michoacan and hit up salsa's taco bar. stupid name, great food.

as far as SF: farolito will destroy you i suggest the super suiza. if you like lard go cancun, they will not let you down. papalote is also excellent but more "domestic" (i like the masonic/fulton location because the line tends to be shorter but phoning ahead is suggested.) my personal #1 is el buen sabor tho.

When I die, burry me in the Fulton Papalote store

I still find the best al pastor in Santa Cruz to be at Tacos Moreno.

Word.

I believe the 41st Ave. location has breakfast burritos plus tortas, etc.

41st > Water St. imo.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Oh no you didn't!!

Water St is the OG location, still run by the family...I don't even consider 41st Ave to be a true Moreno location; their pastor & chicken aren't in the same league as the Water St location.

All beer 20% off at Whole Foods locations in the South Bay this Friday. Not sure about other Bay Area regions.

Cellarmaker has the definition of meh tap list tonight. Good thing they have a tv...to watch a boring as **** ****** baseball game while intense close NBA playoff game is going on...
