Pacificos, I'll be in SF for the 21-24 for a conference. I plan to hit up SARA on Friday for opening until my red eye flight. Any tips/things to be aware of? Also, anyone need any JK beers / IP trades?
Nice, thanks for the tips!Friday traffic down 17 to Sante sucks and starts early, so plan on heading down and grabbing lunch at burger. or Aptos St BBQ if you can.
Unless things have changed, Almanac does not have a tasting room.Scratch that! SARA looking too far for the time. Will be trying out either of Rare Barrel or Almanac.
Anyone know of a reliable place to get the sours? I usually see their IPAs/saisons/so-so stuff fairly regularly, but I hardly ever see the Farmer's Reserve stuff.Yeah, went looking for tasting room hours and just found that. Oh well, I'll be hitting the bars for some!
Harry's Hofbrau (redwood city) usually has their bottles for purchase. In house or take home I thinkAnyone know of a reliable place to get the sours? I usually see their IPAs/saisons/so-so stuff fairly regularly, but I hardly ever see the Farmer's Reserve stuff.
True, bottles aren't too hard to find.Harry's Hofbrau (redwood city) usually has their bottles for purchase. In house or take home I think
We don't actually have bars here. You'll have to wring some beer out of a wet rag.Yeah, went looking for tasting room hours and just found that. Oh well, I'll be hitting the bars for some!
Interesting! Thanks stupac2. I'll definitely hit the wet rag dispensaries too, but I plan on using the BART to Rare Barrel. I make it to SF once to twice a year and am pretty comfortable with it.We don't actually have bars here. You'll have to wring some beer out of a wet rag.
Also, I think that Rare Barrel is kinda long for walking distance. I mean, you can totally do it if you really have to, but I don't think it's worth an hour round trip walk (at least, I've only biked it) when there are so many bars in reasonable walking distance from BART.
It's probably a 30 minute walk from BART.Interesting! Thanks stupac2. I'll definitely hit the wet rag dispensaries too, but I plan on using the BART to Rare Barrel. I make it to SF once to twice a year and am pretty comfortable with it.
Oh shoot, I see! Decisions decisionsIt's probably a 30 minute walk from BART.
If you haven't been to Cellarmaker, it's just as, if not more so, worth your time to go to, and a lot easier to reach.
Just come to toronadoScratch that! SARA looking too far for the time. Will be trying out either of Rare Barrel or Almanac.
Oh definitely. Got my Wednesday early afternoon set for there, then to Cellarmaker and City Beer Store. Friday, I'll be scrapping the last few conference items and hitting that BART for Rare Barrel to get there for opening!Just come to toronado
**** Uber. Flywheel.Cellarmaker and City Beer > Rare Barrel in my book.
Also, embrace Uber around here. No need to walk 30 minutes when you can take a $5 uber ride.

Oh yeah, always using Uber in SF! Flywheel, eh? Cheaper?**** Uber. Flywheel.
Flywheel uses real taxis only, so the insurance coverage is legit and the fare is always predictable, unlike Uber's horrendous surge prying nonsense. You pay the fare + $1 + whatever you set as your tip.Oh yeah, always using Uber in SF! Flywheel, eh? Cheaper?
Surge charging is actually the way things should work. When demands spikes prices should spike too so that you don't get scarcity.Flywheel uses real taxis only, so the insurance coverage is legit and the fare is always predictable, unlike Uber's horrendous surge prying nonsense.
