I am admittedly biased but I would add Lupulo (Downtown SC) to the list that others have already mentioned. I am somewhat perplexed why it doesn't get more love here on TB but I'm guessing many of you probably skip downtown all together.

Lupulo is legit. I've been impressed with the first two beers I've had from Humble Sea as well. . .

I'm a fan of New Bohemia too, but they aren't doing any hype styles (yet). Delightful lagers and Germans styles.

Trueburger in Oakland. It's like an In-N-Out burger but with all local, organic, etc... beef and ingredients. F'ing perfect imho.

No Marlowe?

Way overrated. Much better burgers out there. They haven't been up on my list since they moved out of their old space. And I liked their original concept there (South Wine Bar) more than Marlowe anyways.

I used to cook about 40-50 a night at serpentine. Still get one every time I go back.

So I heard that Serpentine was a sister restaurant to Slow Club and that is where the burger came from (originally created/cooked by Chris Kronner himself). Is this true? If so, can you make me one?

They had the same owner, Erin Rooney. She recently sold Serpentine & the new owner is currently renovating the space. Kronner was a chef there(as was Danny Bowien), but he was there before my time.
The burger would be easy to recreate. Prather ranch beef, acme bun, b&b pickles, pickled red onion. I'd be happy to grill you up one.

That almost has to be a typo. We should go there when they reopen. I've still got plenty of friends on the staff

Their burger was amazing. They did a pop up in SF last year with that burger on the menu and I think Wes Burger(next to MCF SF for those wondering) made their patties for it.

now you're making me wanna go to duc loi for bahn mi. I remember my end of the school week routine during my first year at SFSU was hitting duc loi before going home or acquiring a bahn mi and beer to wander around with in the city.

Congratulations! For a redneck AC unit, you can turn a bottle shipper into a swamp cooler. Makes a pretty significant difference, even with cold water from the tap!

Well, babies are sensitive to heat, so matedog will want to watch out for that too, which could be a challenge.
