Everyone I know that cuts out daily beer drinking dropped weight pounds like crazy. Just curious what a month will do.

I am cheating on both holidays. I always open an Abacus on turkey day, and while I'm not veteran, on the 11th, the latest (greater) bay area brewery darling is doing a takeover at the Hop Grenade. I'm not passing that up.

I've always heard this as well. I significantly cut down the amount of beer I drink over the past year or so and I haven't dropped weight at all. Even when I was drinking up 5x times a week I still exercised almost daily, so maybe that's why?

Probably. After 35 it just seems like it takes a lot more effort just to maintain your current weight, let alone drop a few. I drink daily and get anywhere between 1 to 2.5 hours of gym time in a week. I don't eat fast food, drink soda, or any **** like that. We'll see what a month does. 196 at weight-in yesterday.

You'll gain it all back once you start again, is the thing.

The surest success is to stop drinking beer. Trust me.

pardon the toxic interruption:

"like" this if you would consider contributing to a CA 2016 Proposition Crash Course Thread where people can make arguments for and/or against various props which many of us still need to do our homework on.

Thanks for sharing. At a glance, of the 4 props I already am decided on, I disagree with you on half (61 and 64). I'll tag you if I start a thread but so far people don't seem too interested so we'll see.
I didn't write them, he's another Pete -- I just find that he explains the initiatives clearly so you can figure out where you stand whether you agree with him or not.

Had Alvarado St Contains No Juice at Crafty Fox earlier.

That **** was awful. Did I have it from a skunked keg?? It looked like OJ but hardly any flavor. The aftertaste felt like burning pricks on the back of my throat, never had anything like that before. Couldn't do more than half the glass.

-We aged our Old Foghorn Barleywine in freshly emptied Old Potrero Rye Whiskey Barrels for one year to make a beautifully aged Barleywine with a subtle rye whiskey bite.

How is it after a year in barrels the rye is.....subtle? God , I hope they didn't blend it down by a crazy amount, ala Speakeasy brewing.

I had the same experience on draft. Looked like one of those slurry Hoof Hearted beers in the glass and burned like hell going down. Reviews of the cans sounded pretty good but I never saw any of those.

Cans are way better than on draft.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if the kegged stuff going around was the previous batch before the cans so not nearly as fresh. That's just me speculating though. I do know I was kinda meh on the draft but the can tasted like a whole different beer.

Okay, So I will fully admit I am too lazy to read 366 pages. I need all of your help.

If I have 1 day in SF on Nov. 23rd. Where do I go?
Will be driving in from Elk Grove. Will probably do Alcatraz as the only tourtisty thing before driving back.
Would probably try to hit Fieldwork in Berkeley as well.
Ready..........Set........Go.

Cheers!
