Hello All! Time for the next experiment:

10 lbs Maris Otter Pale
1.5 lbs flaked oats
1.5 lbs flaked rye
0.25 lbs chocolate malt
1 Tbs fresh ground coffee beans

1 oz Northern Brewer (8.1% AA) whole leaf @ 60 minutes

WYeast #2112 California Lager Yeast

5.5 gal batch size
1.065 OG
1.016 est. FG
6.3% est. ABV

Oatmeal and rye flakes were boiled together with water for 1/2 hour. Maris Otter, cereal mash, chocolate malt and ground coffee mashed at 162 degrees F for 1 hour. 1 hour boil w/ Northern Brewer hops.

Maltodextrin or lactose may be added if FG is too far off (I want this to be sweet and chewy).

Comments? I'm halfway through the mash, so no stopping me now....

1.040 OG.

Lautering was a real mess. I've found with my setup that any more than 15% adjuncts and I'm really screwed. Should've learned...

Smells tasty, tastes tasty. Updates to follow.

Looks like my culture of #2112 bit the dust. I pitched US-05 this morning after no activity in the fermenter. I'm considering adding some black patent malt as it's not quite as dark as I wished.
