I am interested in making a northern British brown ale like the one listed here:

However, my LHBS does not seem to have exactly the right kind of base malt. They have Maris Otter pale, Munton's Pale Pearl, an Irish 2-row from MCI, and Golden Promise. While Maris Otter pale may not be the ideal base malt as far as I can tell it's the best of the choices I have, and should still be a degree or so darker than an American pale ale malt. Sound reasonable?
