Hi

Every now and then while crushing a grain bill, my Barley Crusher will stop grabbing the grain. It is almost like a hole, or cave may have formed right above the rollers and for awhile there is no resistance to my turning the crank.

Like no grain is going through the rollers.

I bang on the sides of the hopper but I am uncertain if that makes a difference. Same if I reverse my cranking.

In any case, anybody else have this happen? It has become frustrating for me.

This just happened to me. What was happening in my case was the undriven roller was not spinning. All it took was a good deep clean and it was back to new. I took every thing apart, cleaned the bearings and the shafts, and reassembled with a very light film of vegetable oil. Works great now.

+1 on taking apart and cleaning the BC.

Cleaning got mine up and working great again in under 20 minutes.

Well, this makes sense. I have not cleaned mine since I bought it many, many batches ago.

Thanks for the advice.
