Ball Valve Material

Anyone think of any problem with carbon steel 3 piece ball valves?

I assume they might rust...but given that they are only in contact with the wort /water for short periods of time and cleaned/dry all the rest, I would think there wouldnt be a problem.

What is a Carbon steel valve? Why not get bronze or copper?

Carbon steel WILL rust, without question. Go with bronze- the 'gold' standard of plumbing fixture metals.

If money is an issue, I'd rather have a cheap two piece stainless than the 3 piece carbon steel. Scour Ebay first, then look at buyfittingsonline.com.
