Ball-lock faucet adapters

Does anyone know why the ball-lock faucet adapter sold at several online homebrew stores is said to be incompatible with Perlick/Ventmatic faucets?

That doesn't really make sense to me though, since my Perlicks are easily interchangeable with cheapy chrome rear-seal faucet on my kegerator. Anyone have any experience using these with forward-seal faucets?

The Perlicks have a plunger shaft that sticks out a little bit from the rear of the faucet. Having never used one of these adapters I would guess that they don't have the proper clearance. I'm surprised they wouldn't just design the things to work with any faucet. Would only have to drill it out a little deeper from the looks of the pictures
