I just picked out a really nice keg from my local hobby store - it looks brand new. I just thoroughly cleaned it removing all the parts. When putting it back together, I noticed a lot of play in the out dip tube. I was adjusting it so that it was as close to the bottom center as possible and there was considerable "wiggle".

The keg itself holds air great, no problem there, but I am concerned about the "wiggle" of the out tube.

Is this normal? I don't remember noticing this on any of my other kegs. All of the o rings were in good shape.

The wiggle shouldn't be a problem if you haven't put the post on yet. Once you tighten down the post on top of the diptube, there shouldn't be any wiggle.

The post is on and cranked down as tight as I can get it and it still wiggles a lot. Maybe if I add another o ring?

Is it possible that they put the wrong posts on when the keg was reconditioned?
