I just purchased a new 6 gallon glass carboy for a primary. I notice that there are a few small bubbles in the glass work that are not present in any of my older 5 gallon carboys. Is this an indicator or poor quality or should this new carboy hold up just as fine as my much older ones?

that depends, are the bubbles open to the inside of the carboy. if so i would say its a bad carboy and try to get my money back. if not i wouldn't worry to much about it. the bubbles are not going to weaken the carboy enough to make it break easier. or if it does not enough to make any real difference.

Nope, the bubbles are kinda sandwiched between each side so no worries I guess. Thanks for your input.

i had that happen to the one and only glass carboy I ever used. As soon as I saw it I retired the carboy because I feared it would jeopardize the structural integrity of the carboy
