Lol. I know. I went through a brief period where I didn't use any hashtags. Maybe I'll try it out again.

Took a bit of patience to set this one up, but some peanuts on top of an empty beer can did the trick.

I wonder if this is how the National Geo photographers got their start?

Makalawena Beach, about 30 mins north of Kona. Not "Backcountry" per se, but about a 25 minute hike across a lava field.

I'm not very well versed in the UP, but I do know that it would make for a great introduction to the lakes. bourbonbob might have some suggestions.

Spent 3 days on Clear Creek outside of Winslow, AZ doing a bit of deep water solo climbing. Here are a few of the quality beers we enjoyed.

Summit of Hermit Spire, Sequoia National Monument. Turns out "5.8+" from 1968 is really hard.

Did a 3 day trip in Olympic National Park. One day overland to the (near) headwaters of the Queets River. Then two days paddling out the river in packrafts (ultralight inflatable kayak). About 25 miles on foot and 25 river miles. Brought along a couple crowlers, Holy Mountain Transfiguration and Cloudburst Lip Synch Apology (this was by far the best Cloudburst beer I have had yet, but maybe a beer after a long day on the river just sounded really good).

Took a couple beers up into the Goat Rocks Wilderness up here in Washington:




Madness & Civilization went great with cookies.
Trail Dubbel was a nice sipper–tons of wine on that one.

Spent the weekend at the Needles in Sequoia National Monument. A good chunk of our time was spent replacing old 1/4" bolts from 1983 with modern 1/2" stainless hardware donated by the American Safe Climbing Association. In the third picture, you can see another climber on the left trying Davey Jones Locker (5.12) and my friend Sean hanging on our static line after replacing the bolts on Duty Now for the Future (5.11+ R) on the right.

HPB Zero Buttons (its no blackgnome photo but the rock formation behind the can is still looking pretty good in the afternoon light).

I enjoyed the hell out it since I had it immediatly after getting down from being on the cliff for 7 hours (and stupidly not bringing any water or food up with me). That said, it is a pretty simple beer and I would imagine without the blackberry it wouldn't be a very special saison.
