Post-bouldering beer after a fun day at the Hospital boulders in northern Alabama.

Did you try Mega Man?

Not yesterday. Tried a 7C+ problem called Desperado without really any success. I put a day in on Mega Man last fall. Should probably go back to it since I just learned there's some different feet beta for tall peeps.

how the hell do you get back down from that?

cannonball into the bushes?

Yeah you could jump from the lip. With a bunch of bouldering pads below you it wouldn't be too bad. But there is also a 40 foot slab on the backside that if you can climb up that overhang you are probably comfortable climbing down the tall backside.

Strictly speaking this isn't backcountry as there is a road out of frame. But we did hike around a bit after I drank this beer at 13,800 feet. Mumford Butterfly Scratch on Mauna Kea. Feeling good.

Edit: Sorry for the blurry pic. It was a rush job as the ranger started walking over to our group.

Still a little wintery in parts of SoCal! Hiking 10 miles today to try and climb this boulder I found last fall. It ended up being taller than I remembered and the snow didn't help as much as I was hoping so no send. But motivated to go back! Brought some Timbo Pils and Ultra Cloud along, which really hit the spot.
