Is corn sugar really that hard to find, or is it just me? I've been looking for the stuff the past couple of weeks now and nobody seems to know what it is. If I don't find it tonight I was thinking about priming with maple syrup or anything else. I probably won't use cane just because that's all I've ever used. The beer is an oatmeal stout...I guess I'm also just curious how much influence the primer has on the beer. Dump a bucket of experience on my head, please, thanks.

The only place I've ever found it is at homebrew stores, or online, so I'm not surprised if you have looked elsewhere and come up emptyhanded.

I'm assuming that you don't have a home brew store in your area. If you have a grocery with a decent sugar/natural foods selection you could look for powdered fructose there. I know Bob's Red Mills sells it by the pound. While it won't be quite the same, fructose is close enough to glucose that it shouldn't pose a problem. Might take longer to bottle condition though. Also I would be careful priming with a form of sugar that you aren't sure of how it'll act when it ferments. (Like maple syrup.) It's a good way to bottle bombs.
