I had something similar on a saison, turned out it was infected and turned wicked sour!

I guess ill carefully rack this as soon as possible and get it bottled.
Anyone else think this is evidence of infection?

My krausen ended up lasting about two weeks, and was very thick and gooey. It may have even been normal for the wlp568 yeast I used - was the first time I used it... I actually had to put a blow off on about a week and a half in, as it was just growing and growing.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply yours was infected. My own searches at the time didn't seem to indicate mine was infected based on the krausen, if that helps at all.

I have had a lot of different dried up krausen patterns on the inside of my fermenters. Several times it was so thick I had to remove the stopper to see if the krausen had dropped.

One looked a lot like your pic. It was great!

OP, relax. That photo shows nothing to suggest that you have had anything but a normal fermentation.

Haha, oh the internet and its lack of the ability to express emotion.. im fine. Not worried at all. :) im a very optimistic guy

Ah, well in that case - here's a couple pics of the beginning of the end of mine! :D

It was actually the second krausen, the first dropped out after a couple of days. That one big bubble had me wondering, and about 13 hours later it turned into a full on goo monster, didn't drop back down for about 6 days. I still have it sitting in bottles, holding out hope that something miraculous will happen! Last bottle I tried it was like being smacked in the face with a bag of lemons though..

What is it that you're fermenting there anyways?
