OH and test fuel controls for a big ole southern airline :)

Cool beans. I'm a Private Pilot (ASEL-IA). I built and fly a Van's RV-10 which is a low wing, 4-place, 165Knot experimental.

The Experimental Aviation crowd I socialize with are large consumers of beer at times, like our annual convention in Oshkosh, WI. We have a number of beer fueled events to include a beer tasting where everyone brings at least a 6-pack or their local beer to share. Here's a pic from this year's event:

I'm new to brewing but I'm hoping that I can brew something that's good enough to share at next years get together.

At least one other pilot I know is into home brewing. Here's his rig in action:

Nice, how many have you built? Ive been to EAA Oshkosh a few times as a kid, my father flew in the USAF and had a few buddies who constantly flew Cessnas and AT-6s.

30 years ago I had lofty dreams of helicopter pilot... then private..took a few lessons maybe 20 hrs or so worth...

But too pricey so wound up here... not sure how though. lol... that setup looks awesome!

One thing that kept me away, you dont realize til you get to working on them how things can go wrong... one mistake and it can be it. I get asked all the time to buy off on some private stuff... I turn it down... wayyy to much liability..

Just the one. It took me a little over 8 years from ordering the first kit to first flight--2 deployments, family stuff, work, etc made it difficult to find the opportunity to work on the project at times so it took me about twice as long to build than the average. As a result, I have absolutely no desire to build anything again anytime soon!

Yeah, deployments . . . good for aging beers though.

What lycoming and avionics do you have . . . more pics needed! :D

I have a 6-cyclinder IO-540. My panel is primarily Garmin: 2 screen EFIS, IFR Navigator (GTN 650), 2nd Garmin Nav/Com, PS Engineering Audio Panel, TruTrak 2-axis Autopilot, and Tru-Trak back-up PFD. This is an older pic I took soon after I first installed the panel -- don't have anything newer I can post at the moment.

Commercial AMEL, Instrument, AGI, A&P, former part 135 operator (HS125 yep the old weeping wing piece of crap, and a 421C), former FBO owner, former accident prevention counselor for the KRAL FSDO. So damn glad to be out of that industry.

CMEI and A&P here with a couple thousand hours. Had this plane for 10 years and just sold a few months back because I wasn't flying often enough and started to get behind it. I'll probably live longer now. ;)

Cool RV Auburntsts!

Does retired airline count? Flew Navy A-7's for 7 yrs, then MD-11 cargo for 29. Can't help but look up every time an airplane flies over (which is bad because I live underneath the downwind for a local airport). Owned a Cj-6 (Chinese trainer) for about 7 yrs, but then sold it to pay for my sons tickets. He now flies 767's out of Hong Kong. SWMBO wasn't too happy when he transferred over seas and took the grand kids with them. Oh well, he seems to be having fun over there. He's the person who got me into brewing by the way.

Private pilot here. SEL, SES. I have a Cessna 185. Floats in summer, skis in winter.

Flew with my father since I was a baby. Got my license 20 years ago now. Primary passion is bush flying and fishing in Canada, but typically do one longer vacation somewhere in the US each year.

If you guys ever make it to AirVenture in Oshkosh (last week of July every year) we need to try an setup a homebrew event in the same vein as our annual general beer tasting event.

When I was building I always had beer in a mini-fridge out at the hangar, but now that the plane is done I don't spend a lot at the out there just hanging out so water has replaced beer. :(
