Auber EZBoil

Here is the link to the new EZBoil product from Auber.. im thinking of getting one to make a 240v BIAB controller out of. I was going to run it with a PID also, but the EZBoil has on/off control and it allows you to set the duty cycle of the on and off times so if it were dialed in i bet it could be used and be held pretty close to a mash temp.

Anyone else looked into these?

I use the DSPR1 unit and its perfect for boil control. There is no use for a temperature readout in the boil kettle. I'd say save that $14 and apply it to the SSR's.

There is if its my biab kettle and I want the ezboil to on/off control my element for mash temp.

I use a dial thermometer - a cheap one - to start throttling down the heat as it reaches 210f or so to avoid a boil over. I can see the merit in having it built in and automatically dial down the output as it reaches boiling.

I'm not sure how it would work, but I can see the merit in having it.

I dont understand people putting PID's on their BK, it makes it a pain in the arse to throttle the elements manually.
