I am building a rims system with an electric kettle. I am planning on using a johnson temp controller (or Ranko) which is commonly used for temp controlling fermentation chambers. I was wondering if anybody had used these to control heating elements in kettles specifically. As far as I know they work by just turning on or off the appliance to reach the right temperature. Since there is only one plug outlet for temp controller and since I want to use two 120v heating elements I am wondering if I can split the outlet to take 2 heating elements. And would this lessen the wattage of the element. I have no idea about electronics which is why I don't want to wire my own temp control box
