anyone ever made a successful apple pie cider?

i was thinking:
5gallons motts 100% apple juice
3 large cinnamon sticks
1.5lb dark brown sugar
1tsp vanilla extract (maybe more?)
a random ammount of apple pie spice (probably 1.5-2 tsp)
maybe even a bit of oats to give it a creamier taste (heard that somewhere on the forums)

wont be able to try this until the 10th, when my primary is free

Try USM's recipe. It's like drink a carmel apple pie. You'll want to get a couple scoops of french vanilla ice cream to go with it. Got a second batch going with Nottinghams. It's been 2 weeks in the primary and still going good. I'm very eager to backsweeten and try it but I'll resist and let the Notty's do their thing for 1 more week.
