How did the Oud Bruin turn out?

i'm just getting ready to brew an oud bruin in the coming weeks... how did yours turn out?

PM forthcoming!

Just racked it to stainless. Looking to bottle in about 6 months.
From the rack sample I got it was mildly tart with some thick leathery tones and a great stone fruit/intense cherry out back. really looking forward to this one!!
It did have some cantillon aroma to it. Very clean sour so far.

pm sent.. I've got a bottle of crooked stave "brett D'or"......beat that beer nerds!!!!:D

WINNER! lol

Responded to all your PMs guys.

I really doubt the beer will be ready in 6 months. I'm looking at 12-18 the way mine have been developing, though I'm sure the blend has changed with each generation.

I didn't see it if you did, but have you mentioned that yours is now 3rd or 4th generation? I can't remember if what you got from me was 2nd or 3rd.

I meant 6 months in stainless that would be 9months total but thats just when im going to taste it. Your right im looking like atleast 14months before i think ill be where i want it to be.

I think you sent me 2nd, so this would be 3rd.
I collected a large portion of the cake in a mason and i plan on using that for my next pitch.

Thx again gabe for the hookup!

I'd be interested, but being in Philly, not sure if there's anything I can get you can't. I've got a few bottles of 16 month old Orval, which is honestly the best beer ever brewed, but you can probably get your hands on that.

Have you brewed sours before? ANy in the bottle? Any interesting homebrews?
I can get orval up here but funny enough ive never had it.
Going to grab some today!

4 Vials have been claimed.

2 Are left.

Orval comes into it's own at a year old. Fresh Orval is delicious, but the Brett really comes into it's own at a year. I've even got a couple from 09 that are crackingly good.
