Oh geez why didn't I think to slap on a spigot to a vittles vault and call it a fermenter???? I coulda been a bazillionaire by now...:D

Humpsalot, theres a few people who use vittles vaults as fermenters on here....

I've seen those but got this 18 gallon off Ebay for $40,

Hope the pic shows up, we drilled a hole in the top, added a grommet for airlock, drilled a hole in bottom for trub purge/bottling valve, then built the stand to hold it at an angle.
vern.

I like these threads because now I know if the world ever goes post-apocalyptic, you know, like in Mad Max, I can wander around the ruins of civilization and find plenty of containers to ferment beer in.

35 gallon Norwesco inductor tanks, $68 each. 2" drain you need to reduce down, I opted for 1 1/4" brass ball valve to make sure trub compaction doesn't clog the drain. Using 1/2" brass ball valves with weldless fitting for the racking port using a copper curved racking tube. Drill the center of the lid for an airlock and bam you have a big cheap fermenter with 60 degree slope like most conical fermenters. I'm also going to hard plumb lines to pump from where I boil as well as co2 line to a manifold so I can purge them before I pump in as well as push co2 in when I dumb trub rather than removing the airlock, totally sealed system.

Newton Crouch, a local agri supply house. You can get inductor tanks from several other places, usplastic.com, etc but another local brewer has several makes of inductor tank and told me the Norwesco is the better made and better sealing of them.
