I got a signed copy Hops and Glory: One Man's Search for the Beer That Built the British Empire by Pete Brown for xmas from my sister. The book is about the author who decides to retrace the route of an IPA. He has someone brew up a cask of IPA using a really old recipe, then takes it to India, the long way - via ship down the west coast up Africa, around the cape of good hope, then back up the east coast of Africa. He can't do it exactly the way it was done 150 years ago, but he does take a tall ship from europe to brazil, then takes a container ship from brazil around the cape of good hope and then up the east coast of Africa.
I'm only a couple chapters in. Anyone else read this?
