Looking for something to serve out of directly from a ball lock keg and came across these - "YaeBrew Draft Beer Faucet, Stainless Steel Adjustable Beer Tap Faucet with Flow Controller Chrome Plating Shank with Ball Lock Tap Kit"

https://amzn.to/2nbnrvx

I like that it has the flow control since I brew alot of british bitters & milds.

Looks like a step up from the basic faucets, but I've never come across them and no reviews.

I wouldn't buy them personally. It appears to me that it would be rear-sealing like standard faucet. The higher end faucets will be forward-sealing. It's more sanitary. Also, the post seems intentionally confusing about what parts are made. It does say that the shank is chrome plated brass. Stainless steel is preferred because it will last a lifetime if taken care of and are not much more expensive.

I have some perlick faucets and to be honest I could never tell the difference between beers poured from a perlick vs a standard. There's never been any off flavor issues but I use plugs when not in use.

Do you think these are an upgrade from a standard faucet? I'm either going standard or one of these. Perlicks are not worth the extra coin, for me anyways.

I personally would purchase an 100% stainless faucet. Then the only thing that should need replacing are seals. But there are plenty on here that have used brass for years with no problem. I just don't want a faucet that my beer will dissolve over time.

The other option could be one of the CM Becker plastic standard faucet (CMB X2). I was looking at them before I bought a used set of stainless perlicks. They're made of the same plastic as the disconnects.

Avoid chrome if you're going to use it for more than a year... if it's going to see two backyard parties and then get lost in the garage then Chrome is cheap and works fine. But after a year of use you'll see the chrome eat away and there will be exposed brass which will corrode. not the end of the world, but for a few bucks more you can get stainless.

Also, just fair warning on this setup.. it looks like a flow control faucet to put directly on a ball lock post of a keg. The flow control faucets don't work for trying to provide 10-15psi of restriction... they work best for a pretty well balanced system that needs some help with a highly carbed beer. If you're foaming like mad already, the flow control won't help you much. You'll get better results by putting a length of 3/16 pigtail off the keg to help give more restriction. For that reason I usually just use a party tap for mobile setups, or mount the faucets to something and use jumpers.
