A 1 1/4" knockout punch I could borrow? Me and a buddy need to punch a couple holes for heating elements and didn't want to drop $75 for a one-time use tool.

Let me know!

Edit: Houston would work too. Also a 9/16 punch would be handy.

FWIW i used a bi metal drill bit to drill my holes for the heating elements. I had no problems. i went slow and kept it oiled. i had a few burs when i was done, and i just used a reamer thingy to clean the edges off. did a water test and it sealed perfectly

Harbor Freight has a 4 punch set for $25. It works fine for the case where you're doing only a few holes. Its not going to last like a Greenlee will, but you're not paying an arm and a leg.

I saw the HF set. Unfortunately those are conduit sizes, not nominal, so it won't work.

I assure you they work perfectly. There is a punch that is the correct size for a heating element.

Which one? It doesn't list nominal sizes for any of the punches. But a 1" conduit punch is 1.375 nominal. Seems a little loose for a weldless fitting.
