Just about ready to prime my beer just wondering if there is any need to chill the priming solution? or throw it in hot and let the beer cool it

Typically you want to cool your priming sugar at least to room temperature before adding it

Adding hot priming sugar won't harm the beer, however some may say you will kill yeast.

I cool before I add

Make up your priming solution before you get any of the other bottling equipment ready. It will cool some by the time it is ready to add to the bottling bucket. Hot may kill a few yeast cells but not enough to make any difference. Don't throw it in. The splashing will add air to your beer.

It really doesn't matter. The idea that it will kill the yeast is an idiotic notion, that I still shake my head when someone brings it up... You're adding 2 cups of liquid that is about to crash into 5 gallons of liquid that is cooler, what do you think is going to win this battle? 2 insignificant cups or 5 gallons?

No matter what you do it will be fine.... you can let it cool while doing other things, or you can dump it boiling and start the autosiphon flowing the beer into it which will mix it up (and cool it.) Or anywhere between.

I've done it all ways for years and never had any issues... If you haven't already check out my bottling tips stickey....
